The Information Literacy Program creates initiatives, provides support, and seeks opportunities for collaboration among librarians and others in order to help UCLA students master skills for gathering, evaluating, and ethically using information and to help faculty communicate these skills to students.
Librarians are encouraged to join one of the program's interest groups, attend events, and apply for funding to attend related professional programs. By contacting the people involved in specific projects and suggesting new projects, librarians can contribute to the program's success and ultimately enhance the information literacy of UCLA students.
Librarians are expected to record instructional activities in the Summary of Instructional Activities (SIA) database which is used to generate various individual, unit, and library-wide reports.
