Making an Interlibrary Loan Request

If UCLA does not own an item, users can request it through the interlibrary loan (ILL) service.  Users registered for the fee-based UCLA Library Document Delivery Service can also use this service to request materials available at UCLA.

Interlibrary loan requests can be submitted by the following methods:

To request an item directly from the UC-wide Melvyl Catalog or a database:

• Melvyl: search the catalog, then use the Request service
• Article Indexes and Databases: search the index or database, then use UC-eLinks

Request an item using a UC blank form:

• Book Request Form: this form can also be used to request videos, dissertations, scores, etc.
• Article Request Form
• Book Chapter Request Form

Checking the Status of a Request, Canceling a Request, or Renewing a Request

Users can check the status of a request, cancel a request, and request a renewal by logging in to Request Status.
