Universal Search Tool SurveyThe UCLA Library has begun a long-term project to design a universal search tool, which will enable users to simultaneously search across library holdings including print items, electronic materials, digital projects, Web pages, and other resources. User input regarding expectations and search preferences is essential to help design a tool that meets the research and instructional objectives of UCLA students, faculty, and staff. Please take a brief survey to help project managers develop a comprehensive picture of what is important to users. It should take ten to fifteen minutes to complete the survey. Please complete the survey by February 15, 2008. As a small thank you, users who complete the survey can enter a drawing for a $100 ASUCLA gift card1. The Library will announce the winner on February 29, 2008. Information on how to enter appears at the end of the survey. To begin, click on the link below: All survey responses will be kept completely confidential, and any personal information will be removed from the results prior to analysis. Respondents must be eighteen years of age or older to participate in this research study. Participation is voluntary. Individuals’ decision whether or not to participate will not affect their status with UCLA. The survey and its responses will be hosted on Zoomerang.com. The responses will be protected by password and only the principle investigator has access to your answers. If you have questions about this survey, contact, Zheng (John) Wang, Web services coordinator, by phone at 310.825.2138 or email.
