Getting Started With Research

There are many electronic resources available for high school and community college students to use from their home, school, or local library.  The following links provide a wealth of information that students can consult before coming to the UCLA campus.  Some of the resources are available only onsite, and some are available from your home computer; however, a valid account at the relevant library may be required for remote access.  Each Web site should include information on how and from where it can be accessed.  The same resources may be accessible from several of the Web sites below.

Once you choose a Web site, select the resource or category that is most closely related to your research topic or subject, such as biography, history, literary criticism.
