Music in the Rotunda

The rotunda is on the second floor of the Powell Library Building, which is directly across from Royce Hall. Parking is $11; the closest parking is in structures four, two, or five. See the UCLA maps and directions page for more information.

Admission to the concerts is free, and seating is unreserved. The UCLA Library is pleased to offer "Music in the Rotunda" and other exciting cultural programs at no cost to students, faculty, staff, and the community. UCLA Cadenza A Cappella

Founded in 2008, the all-female student group Cadenza A Cappella will perform their annual spring concert as they make their Powell Rotunda debut.

UCLA TAU A Cappella

Friday, May 25
7:30 p.m.

Formed in 2001, TAU A Cappella, consisting of co-ed members of the UCLA Taiwanese American Union (TAU) student group, will make their Powell debut, performing songs in Mandarin Chinese and English.

"If Music Be the Food of Love...": Songs for and about Lovers
UCLA Sounds

UCLA Sounds, a group affiliated with the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, returns for a concert of medieval love songs to be held in conjunction with GE Cluster 30, Seminar 1, Medieval (and Other) Myths of Love.

Historical Dance in the Rotunda

Please note that several of the dances will be held in the in Kerckhoff Hall Grand Salon; more information is available online. The remainder will be in the Powell Library Building Rotunda; reservation instructions are in each listing. Each dance includes a historical ballroom dance workshop. Costumes are optional, but semi-formal or formal attire is encouraged.

Fifteenth Annual Jane Austen Ball

Saturday, June 2, 8 p.m.
Powell Library Rotunda

Learn English waltzes and set dances from the period 1790-1820. All UCLA students, faculty, and staff as well as the general public are welcome; no dance experience is necessary, and there will be instruction throughout the evening. Attire can be costume, formal, or semi-formal. Admission is free, but space is limited, and reservations are required. RSVP by Thursday, May 31, with the name and number in the party to Catherine Brown by email or by phone at 310.206.4608.
