UCLA STUDENT FILM SHOOT GUIDELINES

Film shoot

Prior to confirming a film shoot, you must meet with the College Librarian Alison Armstrong. You may call her at 310.825.6522.

  • The UCLA Events Office Location Confirmation form must be completed and turned in to the Events Office.
  • One person connected with the film shoot will act as the liaison between the film crew and College Library Administration. This person will be responsible for making sure that these guidelines are adhered to by all individuals involved with the film shoot.
  • The film shoot schedule must be submitted to the College Library Administrative Assistant for approval by the Head of College Library at least two weeks prior to the shoot.
  • Student crews will be responsible for the safety and security of their equipment. There is no storage in the Powell Library Building
  • Equipment may not be left overnight or unattended during the day. This is a liability and security issue.
  • Any delivery of equipment and supplies must be made between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday by appointment. Appointments must be scheduled in advance. A loading dock pass is required if the Powell Library loading dock is to be utilized for deliveries. Please contact the College Library Administrative Assistant to arrange for a pass. There is a $9.00 fee (or more) for the pass for those without a valid UCLA parking pass.
  • The film shoot will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  
  • Filming will not be allowed in the evenings, on weekends, holidays, during 10th week or finals week.
  • The film shoot must end on time; this includes clean up.

Breaks and Meals

  • Food is not allowed in the Powell Library Building. If there will be food or beverage service of any kind, please check with the College Library Administrative Assistant about reserving the Powell Courtyard for breaks and meals.
  • Beverages of any kind may only be brought into the Library in spill-proof mugs.
  • You will be responsible for clean up and the disposal of your trash inside Powell Library and in the courtyard. Please provide your own trash bags or arrange for a cardboard trash container through the UCLA Events Office.
