The Ray Bradbury Commemorative Plaque

“Books were only one type of receptacle where we stored a lot of things we were afraid we might forget. There is nothing magical in them at all. The magic is only in what books say, how they stitched the patches of the universe together into one garment for us.”

 Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

To see the commemorative plaque at the site where Fahrenheit 451 was written, go to the east side entrance of the Powell Library. The plaque is on the ground floor, on the wall outside Room 60, the former typewriting room. The East wing is open Monday- Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.. Copies of the book may be found in the College Library and the Research Library (call number: PS3503 .B718f 1953). (click here for the map)
