Korean E-resourcesThis list only includes electronic databases subscribed to the UCLA. These are only available to only UCLA affiliates and walk-in users to the library Korean Information Service Systme(KISS)(한국학술정보)Full-text databases of Korean scholarly journal articles published from approximately 1200 research institutions in Korea. All the titles include all the available issues from the beginning, and have keyword searching capability. Similar to JSTOR.Encoding to Korean required. DBPIA(누리미디어)Full-text databases including more than 690 titles of Korean scholarly journal articles. All the journal titles are divided into 10 subject categories and all of them contain all the available issues from the beginning. Keyword search available. Similar to JSTOR. Encoding to Korean required. Both two full text article database hardly overlap. Please search the other DB if you can not find the article from one DB. Electronic books by Korean Studies Information Services(KSI)3, 000 of Academic books published by KSI and more than 100 book titles are added monthly. The subject area of these E-books include history, culture, langauge, literature, education, sociology, economics, law, politics. science, technololgy, art, medical, nursing etc. This is complementry resources to the article database and it covers broad discipline not only limited to humanity. Currently UCLA has trial services till July, 2007. KRPia 한국의 지식콘텐츠 - Korean DatabaseFull-text databases of various Korean Studies primary sources including Koryosa, Samguk sagi, Samguk yusa, Chungbo munhon pigo, and many other titles in Korean history, literature, civilization, and medicine. The databases are searchable by keywords, and include image files of original texts in classical Chinese with searchable translated version in Korean. Korea AtoZ - DB Media Contents Library 한국학의 관문 Korea AtoZFull-text online databases of various Korean Studies primary sources and many classics, developed by Dongbang Media. There are fourteen categories divided by subjects or formats to get into each database. All the databases are searchable by keywords, and some databases include original texts in classical Chinese with translated texts in Korean. Zininzin Excavation Reports Database = Ilche Sidae Munhwa Yujok Chosa Charyo 진인진 일제시대 문화유적 조사자료Full-text databases of excavation reports published by Choson Ch'ongdokpu (Chosen Sotokufu) during the Japanese Occupation Period, including Taejong kojok chosa pogo (大正古蹟調査報告) series, Sohwa kojok chosa pogo (昭和古蹟調査報告) series, Kojok chosa t'ukpyol pogo (古蹟調査特別報告) series, etc. Zininzin History and Culture DatabaseZininzin History and Culture Database is the expanded form of above ZININZIN excavation reports database. The DB includes excavation reports, research reports about geography, history, ethnic customs and architecture categorized into provinces, picture albums and journals since 1910. The DB is categorized into era, province, key words and characters for easy accessibility and searchable by names, authors and table of contents of articles and papers included in independent volume as well as its appendix. Korean History Culture Research Database covers subjects of archaeology, art history and folklore and natural science such as geology and ecology. And all the data are written by sunject specialist. EncyKorea한국민족문화대백과사전Online version of Han'guk minjok munhwa taebaekkwa sajon, the most frequently used encyclopedia on Korean Studies. This online database is the revised edition developed by the Academy of Korean Studies and Dongbang Media. Its first print edition of 28 volumes was originally published by the Academy of Korean Studies in 1991. This online encyclopedia is also searchable with keywords, and includes multimedia information such as maps, photos, and audio-visual materials.
