Web Watch: UCLA Librarian Available OnlineBack issues of the UCLA Librarian, first published in October 1947 as a bi-weekly bulletin for UCLA Library staff, are now available online. Issues available range from the first issue, dated October 16, 1947, through the June 1973 issue. The original purpose of the publication was to keep staff informed about personnel, policy, and other subjects, but its content evolved to feature major new acquisitions, exhibits, publications, and subscriptions, and its audience expanded to include the university community and library donors. Contributing writers included UCLA university librarians, faculty, librarians, and staff. In recent years the UCLA Librarian has become an annual progress report, which is sent to campus leadership, UCLA Library donors, and other libraries. Issues since 2003-04 are available online in PDF format. The back issues have been made available by the Internet Archive through a UC-wide agreement to digitize its out-of-copyright books or those for which it owns the copyright and make them freely accessible to users anywhere. |
